It also means an ability to enforce provisions to make developers address their impacts on the community, ensure developers pay for these costs so that growth pay for itself, and make smart plans and rules for future development.

Geoff Bowie:

Geoff Bowie’s background blends community service, city government leadership, and construction management and infrastructure expertise,.

Proven Leadership in Development & Infrastructure
  • 35+ years in utilities management and construction for land development – Oversaw projects installing and managing water, sewer, stormwater, and road systems.

  • Direct experience with housing developments in King and Pierce Counties. Knows how infrastructure impacts neighborhoods.

  • Certified in stormwater, trench safety, and erosion control. This knowledge helps when holding developers accountable for environmental, public works, and safety standards.

City Government & Planning Experience
  • 13 years previous service on Black Diamond City Council and 3 years on the Planning Commission.

  • Helped shape past long-range plans, and understands where those plans haven’t lived up to their early promises. This will allow Geoff to plan better in the future.

  • Understands how to better balance growth with protecting the city’s character, natural env ironment, and residents’ quality of life.

Independent Voice for the Community
  • Track record of asking tough questions and insisting on transparent, responsible growth.

  • Advocates for citizen input in city decisions . Development must serve residents, not just developers.

Public Safety & Community Service
  • Founding member of Rescue One, an all-volunteer search and rescue unit serving rural King County.

  • Volunteer firefighter and EMT for nearly a decade, responding to fire and medical calls.

  • Deep roots in the Black Diamond/Enumclaw area—5th and 6th generation family raising children and grandchildren here.
